OUR BRAVE SOLDIERS
By Honesty Lunaria
As our soldiers go off to war, we wonder,
what are they fighting for?
As they pack their kit with downcast eyes, we wonder,
who will be there with them when they have to cry?
As they walk out of the door and wave a sad farewell,
We ask silently, will they ever return,
with all their tales to tell?
As the plane lifts them into the sky
and slips behind the clouds,
we cross our fingers, pray for their safety,
and finally cry out loud.
And as they land in a faraway country,
foreign and hostile,
we wonder if we will ever again
have the pleasure of seeing them smile.
As they are fired on with bombs
and bullets and shells,
we pray they keep their heads down
and survive until night falls.
And when a new day dawns
and they awake tired and alone,
We wish with all our hearts
that they will soon be home.
And as this war continues
seemingly without end,
the men in suits say,
"It is their duty, their country to defend".
Our boys became soldiers and are
Proud and Shining and Strong,
they lay down their lives for us
never asking who's right or wrong.
They sacrifice their freedom
so that we might stay free,
How great they are, How brave,
How valliant they be.
So, send all your love and support
to all those courageous souls
who fight a violent enemy each day
to keep it from our shores.
And when they come home
from the horrendous trauma of war,
from the friends who died beside them
at the hands of a terrorists sword,
give them all of your heartfelt love
and reverance and care,
for were it not for their valliant hearts,
We may not be here.
Please support our soldiers...everywhere. Send them a message, say Thank You.....and pray for there safe return if they are away!
