If your wife or girlfriend is in a bad mood and she is unresponsive to your efforts to cheer her up, here’s how to turn the situation around. Hold her hands and look deep into her eyes. Tell her that you love her and that you are sorry she isn’t in a particularly good mood. Tell her that you’ve tried everything you know how to cheer her up, that you have been unsuccessful and that you are getting frustrated. Tell her that you long to warmly and lovingly hold her in your arms, but that right now you cannot reach her. Tell her when she is ready you will meet her with open arms. Give her a hug and then leave her alone. Eventually, when she is ready, she will return to your loving arms. In the meantime, you have an opportunity to separate yourself temporarily from the situation. This will allow you to avoid getting further frustrated. You will be refreshed and ready to hold her, talk to her and listen to her when she returns to you.
