When I was 10 my family was eating dinner for my Grandma's 75th(ish) birthday. In an attempt to make a joke I said "I bet she dies this year" and everyone gasped. She said "I bet he's just joking" but I could tell it hurt her. I ran to my room for awhile until it blew over, but I never apologzied to her, or talked to anyone about it ever again. I think that moment is the biggest regret I've ever had.
